Today, the inauguration of the new mosque took place in Aulla (Province of Massa-Carrara, Tuscany, Italy), marking an important moment for the local community and for the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogue in the area.
The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Aulla, Avv. Roberto Valettini, whose presence represented a concrete sign of institutional attention and recognition of the value of civil coexistence, mutual respect and freedom of religion as guaranteed by the Italian Constitution.
The event was attended by Alfredo Maiolese, President of the European Muslims League (EML) and Ambassador at Large of the World Organization of States – International Parliament for Safety and Peace (WOS-IPSP), who highlighted how open and officially recognized places of worship, fully integrated into the urban and social fabric, represent essential tools for social cohesion and for preventing marginalization.
The inauguration of the Aulla mosque is part of a broader path of institutional dialogue, cooperation among communities and the promotion of responsible citizenship, based on respect for shared rules, participation and common values.
The European Muslims League (EML) reaffirms its commitment to fostering a fully integrated European Islam, grounded in transparency, peace, dialogue and constructive cooperation with local and national institutions.
In an international context marked by tensions and conflicts, initiatives such as this demonstrate how dialogue, when supported by responsible institutions and aware communities, can translate into concrete actions that strengthen coexistence and social stability.
Peace is not a utopia, but a shared responsibility.
