On the occasion of the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, the European Muslims League (EML) wishes to draw attention to the suffering of millions of children living in areas affected by war, violence, and humanitarian crises.
Childhood should be a time of growth, education, play, and serenity. Yet, in many parts of the world, thousands of children are forced to live with fear, the loss of family members, the destruction of schools, and the absence of adequate medical care. The consequences of conflict are not limited to physical injuries but leave deep psychological scars that may accompany individuals throughout their lives.
Islam places extraordinary importance on the protection of children and the vulnerable. The Holy Qur’an and the example of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) teach respect for human dignity, mercy, and responsibility toward those in need of protection. Harming an innocent child constitutes a grave violation of moral principles and values shared by all humanity.
Alfredo Maiolese, President of the European Muslims League (EML), stated: “Too often the world notices children only when they become victims of war. Every child who is killed, injured, abducted, or deprived of education represents a wound to the conscience of humanity. No political, military, or ideological reason can justify the suffering of the innocent. Religious communities, institutions, and civil society have a moral duty to promote peace and protect future generations. Investing in children means investing in the future of humanity.”
The European Muslims League renews its appeal to governments, international organizations, religious leaders, and civil society to intensify efforts to prevent conflicts, ensure access to education, support families affected by war, and provide humanitarian assistance to the most vulnerable children.
Investing in children means investing in peace. Every child who is protected, educated, and supported in his or her development represents a concrete hope for a more just, stable, and peaceful future.
The European Muslims League expresses its solidarity with all children who are victims of violence and calls upon religious and civil communities to promote a culture of peace, compassion, and shared responsibility toward future generations.
