The European Muslims League (EML) extends its sincere congratulations to H.E. Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed on his election as Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
His election is an important recognition for the Islamic Republic of Mauritania and for the wider Islamic world, at a time marked by serious international crises, conflicts, and profound humanitarian and security challenges.
EML hopes that this new mandate will encourage closer cooperation among institutions, religious communities and civil society, grounded in dialogue, the dignity of peoples and the right to peace.
“In these difficult times, we must all stand together in supporting peace, security and the authentic values of faith through dialogue and diplomatic engagement. Cooperation among peoples is now a shared responsibility,” stated Ambassador Dr Alfredo Maiolese, President of the European Muslims League and Secretary-General of WOS-IPSP.
The European Muslims League renews its best wishes to the new OIC Secretary-General and looks forward, at the appropriate institutional time and through the appropriate channels, to a constructive dialogue on shared initiatives for peace, cooperation and the fight against Islamophobia.
