As part of the promotion of the book Interfaith Dialogue: Albania’s Contribution to the Balkans, authored by Prof. Ambrogio Bongiovanni, an institutional meeting dedicated to interfaith dialogue and academic cooperation was held at the University of Elbasan Aleksandër Xhuvani. The meeting was organized by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Elvira Fetahu.
The meeting was attended by Monsignor Jonut Strejar Paul, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Holy See in Albania; Prof. Ambrogio Bongiovanni, Director of the Center for Interreligious Studies at the Pontifical Gregorian University; Dr. Arben Ramkaj, Vice President of the European Muslims League (EML) and President of the Interfaith Cooperation Center (QBNF); and Rev. Dorian Mjeshtri, Vice President of the Interfaith Cooperation Center (QBNF).
During the meeting, discussions focused on opportunities to strengthen interinstitutional cooperation between the University of Elbasan and the Pontifical Gregorian University of Rome, with particular emphasis on the development of joint academic initiatives. Among the topics addressed was the possibility of mutual academic recognition and the establishment of dual degree programs, within a structured and long-term framework of collaboration.
The European Muslims League (EML) reiterates its commitment to promoting interfaith dialogue, academic cooperation, and constructive engagement among educational and religious institutions, recognizing these efforts as essential contributions to peaceful coexistence and social stability at the regional and international levels.

On the occasion of the meeting, Alfredo Maiolese, President of the European Muslims League (EML), stated:

Albania’s experience represents a meaningful model of coexistence and mutual respect, one that deserves to be highlighted and shared at the European and international levels. Initiatives such as this strengthen the role of educational and religious institutions in promoting a culture of peace based on knowledge, dialogue, and shared responsibility.”
