Every day we witness acts of violence, disorder, lawlessness, and disrespect toward public institutions. Too often people ask how these problems can be solved, when the answer is actually very simple: rules and laws exist, and they must be respected.
Freedom does not mean doing whatever we want. True freedom means living in a society where everyone knows not only their rights but also their responsibilities.
For this reason, the European Muslims League calls upon everyone—regardless of religion, nationality, or background—to embrace a culture of responsibility. Anyone who lives in a country should respect its laws, cooperate with its institutions, and contribute to the common good.
Islam also teaches the importance of honoring commitments, maintaining order, upholding justice, and promoting peaceful coexistence. A good Muslim does not seek shortcuts, does not justify unlawful behavior, and does not encourage disorder. On the contrary, a Muslim is called to be an example of honesty, integrity, and respect for others.
Of course, laws can be improved. In a democratic society there are legitimate ways to propose changes, participate in public debate, and contribute to the development of one’s country. However, as long as a law is in force, it must be respected.
Civil coexistence is not built through force, but through mutual respect. Every citizen who follows the law helps make our communities safer, our institutions stronger, and the future of the next generation more secure.
Peace, security, and freedom do not happen by chance. They are built through responsibility and respect for the rule of law.
Rules and laws exist. It is not enough to know them—we must follow them.
