Sport possesses a unique power to bring people together where politics, culture or history often create distance. Every pitch and every youth tournament becomes a neutral space in which young people learn to know one another, to respect one another and to recognise themselves as part of the same community. The European Muslims League considers this dimension an essential asset for any society that wishes to define itself as modern, inclusive and capable of building bridges among people of different origins, languages and faiths.

For years the EML has supported sporting initiatives that speak of dialogue rather than rivalry, encounter rather than confrontation. This is the same spirit that guides the second edition of “Un Calcio alla Guerra”, scheduled in Genoa on 28 December 2025. Behind its apparent simplicity lies a powerful gesture: placing children and young people at the centre, giving room to their enthusiasm, and transforming sport into a message of peace addressed to the entire Italian society.

The EML believes that the future of Europe also depends on these experiences, which help bring different communities closer and highlight the healthiest and most authentic side of civil coexistence. The presence of families, associations, local authorities and sports figures is not merely an organisational detail. It is the concrete sign that cooperation among diverse realities can work and can offer a precious example for everyone.

In the coming months the European Muslims League will continue to promote projects that combine education, dialogue and social responsibility. Sport will remain a central pillar of this commitment, because it represents a universal and immediate language capable of reaching young people even before words do. At a time when division often prevails, remembering that a football match can become an act of peace is a simple yet decisive way to express our vision of Europe: a common home where differences do not generate suspicion but mutual enrichment.
